Strategic Dissemination of Social Technology on Expanding the Scope and Scale of School Based Programs for Adolescent Parents and their Young Children

The goal of this project is to disseminate information on how to expand the scope and scale of school-based programs for adolescent parents and their children. This social technology was developed over the last seven years by CAPD with support from seven foundations. CAPD will enhance the information available to schools, TANF agencies, and others such as members of state and local coalitions. This disseminations will be achieved through creating strategic alliances with national organizations with access to those who come in contact with teen parent and their children. The national organizations will include The National Organization of Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Parenting Programs(NOAPPP), the Welfare Information Network(WIN), The Council of Great City Schools(CGCS) and the Chief State School Officers (CSSO), to name just a few. The effort will include: dissemination of CAPD documents including announcements of the availability of twenty pieces on teen parents and their children on our web site; development of issue briefs which are tailored to the interest of particular organizations; and presentations at national, regional or statewide conferences. This work is been supported by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
