Evaluation of Worthington MN's Citizens Academy

The Police Department of Worthington MN provides a multi-week series of workshops for local citizens, focused particularly on immigrant groups (Hispanic and Southeast Asian). The goal of the workshops is to familiarize participants with the local police department and other community resources and assist participants in understanding issues related to law enforcement.

Using data from questionnaires administered to workshop participants at the initial and ending workshop sessions, CAPD analyzed changes in knowledge and attitudes related to how and when to contact police, the status of various crimes, traffic violations, and police treatment of citizens.
