Policy Brief on Early Childhood Education Quality Rating and Improvement Systems

CAPD prepared a policy brief for the Connecticut Early Childhood Research & Policy Council, which was examining options for components of an early childhood education system and making recommendations to the Governor's Early Childhood Education Cabinet. The brief included a description of the purposes of early childhood quality rating and improvement systems, usual components, and elements of such a system already present in Connecticut. The brief also reviewed examples from other states and presented a design for development of a QRIS in Connecticut.
