Connecticut College Summer Student Advancement Program

Seeking to increase the pool of disadvantaged students interested and prepared for college, Connecticut College launched a program that invited students and teachers to an intensive campus-based, residential, college-level program. Selected students had academic potential but, lacking extra support, would be unlikely to attend college. CAPD undertook a qualitative assessment of the first summer of implementation and produced a summary report offering recommendations for strengthening program design and operations.
