Briefing Guides for AECFs Making Connections Initiative Site Teams

CAPD contributed to the development of two field resource guides on key ideas, effective approaches, and technical assistance resources for the Making Connections site teams. The Communications Guide looks at how communications can be used strategically to support family development and strong neighborhoods. It covers some of the basics and some of the newest ideas from communities and research, as well as provides a detailed list of traditional, alternative, and new media resources. The Inter-Group Relations Guide, in turn, discusses issues of race, class, and power in building strong communities. This work builds a common frame of reference for discussing these issues, outlines opportunities and challenges in the field, and describes organizations around the country that can assist communities in their work.
